Survivors of Trauma
Therapy for Survivors in New Jersey —
Trauma-Informed Support Rooted in Experience
Survival isn’t the whole story. You made it through, but the impact may still live in your body, your relationships, your sense of self. Whether it happened recently or long ago, the aftermath of trauma can be isolating, confusing, and heavy to hold alone.
Since 2017, I have worked in the field of trauma response and survivor advocacy at the Rutgers University Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance. I’ve supported survivors through crisis response, counseling, advocacy, and group work. Since 2019, I’ve worked clinically with survivors in individual therapy, and even piloted a scuba-based trauma therapy experience to help survivors reconnect with their bodies in healing ways.
My clinical practice is grounded in this deep experience, and also in my ongoing research. I’m currently completing a dissertation focused on amplifying survivor activist voices and exploring the realities of institutional betrayal. This work isn’t just professional for me — it’s personal, meaningful, and rooted in years of showing up for people whose stories deserve to be heard.
Working with a male therapist as a survivor can be complicated. It might feel uncertain, unfamiliar, or emotionally charged. That’s okay. And that’s something I welcome into the room. I know trust has to be earned, not expected. And I offer a trauma-informed space that centers your pace, your power, and your voice. I also recognize that many men who are survivors or experienced trauma find difficulty in entering therapy spaces. This space is for you too.
What Therapy Can Support You With:
- Healing after interpersonal, systemic, or institutional trauma
- Processing betrayal, assault, or abuse
- Managing PTSD or trauma symptoms
- Navigating shame, grief, or identity shifts
- Rebuilding boundaries and trust
- Reconnecting with your body and sense of agency
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in your autonomy. We move at your speed. We work with your story. You decide what healing looks like — and I’m here to support you along the way.
This space is open to you — whether you’re a student, a professional, LGBTQ+, someone from a marginalized or multicultural background, a man who identifies as a survivor, or someone who doesn't feel defined by labels but knows the weight of harm.
You are not broken. You are not too much. You are not alone. You are allowed to be angry. You are allowed to be sad.
You are allowed to be you.
